To edit records, select the desired record in the browse
window and then either click the
button on the toolbar, click the Edit button in the
upper-right corner of the browse window, select File
Edit … from the main menu or
the context menu (see Context Menus), or press
the Enter key. The Edit button and menu options will only be
enabled if the user has Edit access rights to the browse module (see User Security).
If the operating system is Windows 95, 98, or ME, then because of system memory management limitations, if three view or edit windows are already open for the active module then you will be asked to close one of those windows before editing another record. In all other operating systems, up to eight view or edit windows may be open simultaneously for each module.
When editing a record, an edit window will open. Enter data and click the Save button to save changes. Click the Close/Cancel button or press the Esc key to quit without saving changes.
For licensed users of version 2.6 and higher, entry fields are resized to fit the size of the edit window, and edit windows may optionally be resized. Whether edit windows remain their default size or are resizable can be set as a general default (see module option “Allow Resizing of Edit Windows” under General Module Options).
